Fur Coat and No Knickers Websites
Once again, I find myself doing a web audit, having been asked to look at website, only to find that the whole damn thing has been robots’d out. And, it’s been like that for quite some time.
This is a 5-second code change, that when made will tell Google NOT to ignore the entire site.
If you are getting a site built by a design agency or someone who doesn’t necessarily understand SEO – PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get it checked over by someone who does understand the implications of this and similar edits that make a HUGE difference to online success.
I’m not talking about what you think you website looks like. I am talking about under-the-bonnet, simple (when-you-know-how) things.
I am not writing this to sell a service. I am writing it because I get so bloody frustrated at seeing websites that have cost a lot of money, that people all agree look good, only for them to not deliver anything for a paying client.
The funny thing is, because the design agency has spoken about SEO, the client thinks it is the fault of SEO. More than half the time, it’s actually the lack of understanding of the agency.
